OMM free for all users?

Hello FormLabs

I just found out that Open Material Mode ( which was to start with ridiculously expensive) is now free for Form 4B and 4BL printers. And I thought that this was genius…but then the little asterisk …only if you have bought it after Jan 12th 2026…

Really now? Are you serious. I feel so betrayed. When offering something for free I cannot understand why it has to be offered only to some people, instead of all your buyers. Especially those who bought into the system early on and effectively supported you. My Form 2 which was bought ages ago and is still operational - but cannot get FormLabs resins or tanks- could print from day one with an OMM. Why not all your printers?

This is something that should be offered to all of your buyers and not just some on them.

I hope that you can reconsider this decision as it is very unprofessional

Hi,

Can you please let me know where you saw this information? Lucky me, I did purchase the printer after January 12th. Fully agree with you about this policy of date, it’s not fair for people who purchased earlier. Cheers

FormLabs send me an email regarding this. They advertised that more than 50 resins are now officially available to be used on th OMM

Lo mismo para los que compramos la Form 4. Tengo varios conocidos que coincidimos que es mejor comprar otra de otra marca antes que pagar el codigo abierto.

I would agree I just bought a Formlabs 4L and was going to purchase the OMM but now they have doubled the price to 5000 from 2500 so i can no longer afford it and 4B 4BL user are getting it free, that is ridiculous.
