This bee was modeled in zBrush - printed, painted and finished by me.
It is 60 cm long.
Sorry but what? you 3d printed that?
Do you have pictures of the work in progress?
Very well done, how did you do the hair?
Thanks for sharing @KlausLeitl these are stunning!!!
What material did you use?
Hi
Sorry I don’t have any pictures of work in progress. But the progress is always the same: The work process is always the same:
Modeling in zBrush; dividing the model into pieces suitable for the printer and adding registers. Decimating the number of polygons. Export. Hollow out in preform with ventilation holes and add support structures, print (clear resin), wash, dry. Sand and close ventilation holes. Apply primer, prime, paint. Protective coating. Drill holes for each individual hair (0.5mm). Paint the holes black so that they are not white. Glue a hair in each hole. Style the hair with a hairdryer. Glue the individual parts together. Finished.
I think you don’t want to do this work
I ad a zBrush render.
That’s nuts, it would be very interesting to seeing some in progress shots though
Here is some of @KlausLeitl’s older work that sort of shows the process
Wow! Very cool, and thanks for sharing. The scale makes is very impressive
