Issues with flakes in prints

Well, not all prints are coming out perfect, but most. Here is a photo of resin castings from a mold made with masters printed on the Form1+. The largest ring is 15/16ths in dia.

If the big mirror and tank is clean and you still have areas that produce bad prints then you probably have a few specs of dust on the mirror that is just below the galvos. I had that issue before. That mirror is tricky to clean because the galvos are so close. I taped a pec pad on a piece of cardboard and put a tiny drop of IPA on it to clean mine. Definitely delicate work.

Hi Stephen,

Sorry for the late reply. I have attached some photos showing the “streak” in Marvin’s right eye (left of photo) and I also added a .form file. I see a small white strand in the big mirror below the glass of my form 2. Is it what’s causing this problem?

Thanks for the help!

Hm - the print result indicates some type of optical obstruction, and the strand that you mentioned is certainly suspect. Could you send these photos, as well as images of the strand on the mirror, to our customer care team (upload here) so that we can look into your prints? Thanks, @aad345!

I have had similar problems in some of my prints.
The culprit turned out to be a hair stuck to the bottom of my resin tank.
I had been inspecting the mirrors etc but not the tank…

The resin tanks seem to take on a static charge and attract all kinds of dust, lint and hair.
I now inspect and clean the bottom of each tank with a microfiber cloth and/or compressed air.

Good Luck

Will do.

Thank you so much for your help

Yeah, I had that happen when I first got the printer–probably some object got on the glass or the bottom of the tray
