Fuse 1 Quartztubes

It is also important to remember that the tubes must be absolutely free of dirt when they are inserted, i.e. also free of fingerprints.
Such dirt will otherwise burn into the tubes and can result in a very short service life.

The service technician who carried out the first service for us did not take this into account. Fortunately, I was there and cleaned the tubes afterwards.

Yes i am very much aware of this, but brand new out of the papertube should NOT be broken. I get that it can happen. But it has happened more than once.

Yesterday was a bad day. Our old school legend that is LushChevrotain died.

But, i have a new SOM on the way home so fingers crossed that is the issue.

In that case its a cheap fix to a major problem.

I did a quick calculation yesterday and i reckon it has approx 12000 hours by now. Im determined to get it to 20k hours before it finally takes a bow.

If this isn“t great publicity for Formlabs Fuse series, i don“t know what is.

Im expecting a visit from Formlabs, champaigne and flowers when we reach 20k.

So that’s 20,000 hours of pure printing time, right?

On the Fuse 1 with a full build chamber, that’s 24 hours of pure printing time per build chamber, if I’m not mistaken?

20k hours of actual print time yes.

If i calculate it correctly i should hit that around spring/summer of 2027.

I think it depends on packing density. I have one print @ 52% packing density (apprx. 1700 parts) and its a 60 hour print.

Crossing my fingers for LushChevrotain!

That would be quite an achievement for the fuse. It would be cool to know that such a runtime is achievable.

Damn! That’s a well-used building chamber.

That’s comforting to hear you can get the SOM for the fuse1. Are they having you replace the MOBO as well or just the SOM?

Only the SOM. We had a PM visit the other day by one of the chillest ppl i have ever met and he told me that a year or two ago they made the SOM replaceable. So im only replacing the SOM from what i understand, at a very reasonable price aswell.

Glad to know they can run for looong. I’m hitting 3000 soon, received it with a little over 1000 back in nov 24 previous owner had it for 3 years.

I just got the numbers from formlabs and it has 13348 in total printhours right now.

So 20k? It“s not impossible.
