Form 4 Early Layer X/Y Offset - Elephant Foot Fix

Hi @aQUEL @henryqiu -

The default settings in my profiles are -0.250 for Grey V5? Which material did you use? I am still struggling to get rid of elephants foot which causes problems if I eg. have text recessed on the side printing on te build platform.

Below are the settings I have used to print this part.

As printing on the platform us just about the only way I am getting desired results (square corners and straight sides) I am hoping to get this dialed in perfectly

Friedl.

Using 0.4 offset for entry 1 and 2 for White v5 worked perfect for my application. I left entry 3 to 0 (since this is normally the standard exposure).

So:

  1. 0.4
  2. 0.4
  3. 0.0

Hi -

Great thanks. I will give it a try. Lost a resin vat in the process of trying to determine the correct settings :worried:

Hi @aQUEL -

I printed twelve pieces on the same print, fortunately now failures :slight_smile: Below is the result;

The side with the arrows was on the build platform. I have some larger flat pieces I need to print, will start this morning, hopefully it will go well.

I am also interested in these settings and wanted to try them out. If we could print optimised designs without supports, that would be great. So far this has only had a theoretical appeal, as the sharp edges on the first layers still require post-processing.

Unfortunately, this setting does not seem to be available for the Form 3 series? The field for the offset setting is missing in the array settings.

In the past, we had tried the Z fine adjustment on the printer. However, there are big differences between different materials. For example, we had calibrated our Form3B with the flexible platform to the standard white, so that printouts no longer had any edges here, but there were permanent printing errors with GreyPro.

Customised settings could solve this problem. Is this setting also planned for the Form 3 series?

Any update? Did it fix the issue?

I am thinking of buying one form4 but I always need straight edges everywhere. I come from fdm where straight edges are no problem. Elephant foot not either.

But I need better surfaces. Though sla can do that. Heygears seems to get it perfectly…

Hi @Eladore

I have been printing quite a bit with the settings

This is the happy medium I could find. Even though there is still a small brim, increasing this resulted in parts falling off the build platform.

Refer to this post I added some images of parts printed directly on the build platform.

Hope this helps!
