Form 2 Tool Rack

neet!

Bump. Also interested, very awesome work.

I like to filter my resin after big prints to ensure no floating debris, has anyone seen (or created) some sort of attachment to the resin tank that would allow me to pour the resin from the “spout” area without it inevitably dripping down the side. Kinda like an extended spout attachment?

Hot off the press! Just soaking it now and will clean it up a bit once all the residue clears up.

Seems to have come out well though, I printed it at 0.1mm layer height so you can see the layering in the part but as it’s more functional than anything I just wanted it to come out without wasting too much material. All of the tools fit though I would say that the cutters fit better with the white cap on than with it off but they still fit pretty well without it. The drip tray clips in pretty well too and it all stays together when you move it around (Don’t know if that’s still due to the residue so will test again once it’s dry)

I’ll upload the files now so you guys can give it a go!

I’ve uploaded the STL files, I would however recommend that you don’t do what I did when printing. It’s volume is 70ml (Aprox) but to save on support material I printed it upside down as this was marginally less material. What it has done however is left like dipped pock marks along the Aesthetic face. So I’ve had to sand it back but the highest grit I have right now is 255 grit sand paper (Hence why some of the photos look so rough) anyway it actually came out pretty well and it keeps the tools nicely together. Also quite nice if you push the drip tray up into the leg cavities as high as it will go it will stay in place when you pick up the whole rack. so you can move the whole thing with one hand.

Anyway here some pics and let me know if there’s any further tweaks you guys think it needs?

Very Good @RGEDMI

I’ll print it in white, let’s see if the internal brackets will look good.

Hello RGEDMI
i just print it and it looks great but my Formlabs Spatula won’t fit in it. My spatula that came with my formlabs is 7.5 cm wide. Did I do something wrong somewhere? i did not rescaled your model though.

Thank you
Richard

Shoot, my print is 75% through and I just checked - my spatula is also 75mm. Can anyone else share the width of their spatula? FormLabs may have swapped designs/suppliers at some point recently.

75 mm here

Hello Andrew
Did you try your spatula in your new’y printed model?

Nice design; but it won’t stop inDUHviduals from walking off with tools or simply misplacing them.

That behavior happens in shops of all kinds.

They must have recently changed the Spatulas I guess? Mine is 50mm wide. I’ll update the model and reupload a new STL file as soon as I can. Sorry I just assumed that the spatulas would have all been the same width??

No problem, I should have checked myself that the tools would fit. I just cleaned the print off (left it over the weekend, my printer is at my job) and it looks great besides the spatula being too big. If you could update the file I’ll give it another go at printing and will report back.

Hello RGEDMI
Thank you for your work! One question: May I use your model on my website to illustrate the different steps in the process of creating a piece (Preform orientation, printing, curing and cleaning )? Just tell me if it is ok with you. If yes could you please send me a email at goujon_r@yahoo.com to confirm it. My name is Richard Goujon.
Thanks a lot for your time!

The spatulas did change somewhat recently. The 50mm spatula makes cleaning tanks a bit easier as it fits in the area that the resin dispenses into.

I have often thought the wider spatula is strange as it doesn’t fit the dispenser area.
