Hello, I would like to ask why the surface quality looks a bit poor. Is there any solution to this? My Form 4 also has this issue
Hi. It improved using Grey V5 at 25 Microns instead of White V5 at 50 microns
The surface quality is not very good
Hi Maizi, I just responded to your comment on another thread asking about surface finish for clear parts with some examples there.
The Form 4 has dimensional accuracy within ±0.15% (lower limit of ±0.02mm), and the part that you’re seeing is about 8.5mm in width, zoomed in with a macro lens. I’d be curious to know what “good” looks like to you. If you have examples, I’d love to take a look and take your feedback, as well as learn a bit more about what you’re looking to achieve.
If you considera the size of the part I think the quality is acceptable
On the right is a model I printed using precision model resin and Form 4 a year ago. The surface quality is excellent. However, the model on the left, which I printed recently, has poor quality. Therefore, I would like to inquire if there is a solution
Thank you for reaching out to us in the forums.
I do see the difference in the 2 models and the first thing I would like for you to check would be the build platform on your Form 4.
When you lock it into place, does it wiggle at all? Can you pull it off of the dovetail while locked? Or does the lock not push all the way down? We have seen lines like this happen when the BP can wobble or is not locked in securely.
This is the platform inspection video, and it doesn’t appear to be shaking
@maizi Thank you for sending that video over. I agree that the build platform looks quite sturdy which is good news.
Please take these additional steps
- Please * clean and inspect your tank making sure to get underneath the wear strips
- Please * clean your release texture
- When was the last time you * changed out your tank? Our recommended lifetime is 75,000 layers
If after you take the above steps you are still seeing the same surface finish, please reach out to our support email. We will want you to provide the serial name of the printer as well as your .formfile.
