Dimensional Inaccurate Color Resin Printing

We recently ran a print using the color resin (apricot color 80% yellow, 20% magenta) and found that all of the parts printed larger in all dimensions by approximately 0.20mm - 0.30mm. We then compared these parts to those printed with dental model resin which printed perfectly without any dimensional inaccuracy.

What solutions are available to print with high accuracy for the color resin?

I don’t have experience printing with the colored resin. Some resins print with higher accuracy than others.

You might try adding the coloring agent to the dental resin and seeing how it works. Just remember that you are no longer biocompatible (or maybe you are, but you certainly can’t use their master file).

Hey there @jamisondds,

Thanks so much for taking the time to post! Sorry to hear you’re having some dimensional accuracy issues with your recent color prints.

Do you mind if I ask what layer height you’re printing at for these models?

Also, it might be helpful to know the percentage of difference rather than just how many mm off it is. Without the total size of the part, it’s tough to know quite what that means.

Thanks for the information!

This happened with all the parts made with the resin, could you post the pictures?
