I keep on getting marketing for resins starting at $79 and $35 for bulk, but this doesn’t seem to apply to any printer other than the Form 4. The resins for the Form 3/3L and Form 2 are still selling for $149, almost double and there doesn’t even seem to be an option for bulk pricing. Why are we essentially getting screwed on pricing?
Hello br4n_d0n,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I think it’s great that we’ve been able to refine so many aspects of our consumables, achieving better production costs and enabling us to lower the overall selling price.
For example, the cartridge system has resulted in significant savings, as we now produce 63% less plastic waste during cartridge manufacturing, which directly impacts the selling price. Additionally, we’ve started reformulating for example our standard materials, which are among the most popular. This allows us to optimize them in multiple ways, from improving mechanical properties and printing speeds to achieving better production costs through better supplier agreements.
Bulk pricing and subscription payments are also intended for the older generation, such as the Form 3/3L. Particularly in the dental field, we have many customers using still multiple Form 3B printers with Form Autos. These customers, for instance, often enter framework agreements to optimize manufacturing costs without compromising quality, especially due to the high volumes and competitive market demands.
I would recommend discussing bulk pricing with your Point of Contact related to Formlabs products, so they can provide a tailored offer based on your needs.
I hope this helps.
Wish you a great Friday.
Best regards,
Shiden Yohannes
Or instead of buying in bulk from Formlabs, which is still more expensive than 3rd party resins, you adapt the older Form 3 to receive the newer Form 4 materials which are cheaper?
