Announcing White Resin Version 2 with a printed and fully functional violin

That’s exactly what I was looking for. I imagine the testing is difficult at best. Is remarkably similar something like +/- 5% ? Did the new formulation change the properties of the new white?

Thanks,
Anthony

Let me pester our materials team quickly to make sure that the deviation is within around 5% for our standard resins (I very much suspect it is but want to make sure). The changes to the new white do improve its impact resistance a bit though if anything, this makes it more similar to the rest of our standard resins.

Has anyine else had problems with the white version 2 resin being extra tough to peel away the supports? Pretty much impossible without soaking the prints overnight in IPA then using flush cutters to get them off before the sanding.

Haven’t had the opportunity to test the new white unfortunately.

@Frew, any news on the materials?

I wish I have the new resin to test it out. Will order a few cartridges soon

i confirm that with new white material it is difficult with the form2 to peel it off the platform. I will try the IPA and cold air trick to assist peeling

I signed up for that 3dhubs.com yesterday. As part of the verification process I printed Marvin in the new white we received last week. I am very impressed with the brightness of the white and nearly seamless layers. This was printed at 50 microns directly on the build platform with no supports. It is so small so it may not be fair to comment on it being tough to remove, but I have to say for how small it was…it was not easy to remove. I tried prying to no avail so i smacked the side of it with a blunt object and it flew off.

Are you ZELDA 3D? If so I am just around the corner from you.

Awesome! I LOVE how it looks. I gotta buy myself some of this new resin!

I actually am not Zelda 3d. I am QMP, Inc. We are located in Santa Clarita, CA. Are you nearby?

No, I am in Melbourne Australia.

I saw a new account that used a Form 2 and had a while resin Marvin thumbnail.

I spy with my little eye a HOVI Mic tip for a Stormtrooper bucket. That’s also on my short list of prints!

4 inch paring knife works well to remove printed parts.

I just printed some parts with the white resin version 2 and was stunned at how much better they look than the version 1. They came out a shiny white opaque vs the sick skim milk look of Version 1.

So now that you figured this out, how about some colors??? (even if they have to be pastels)

Good Morning Richard. I am with Source Graphics and we have in stock & ready to ship out same day all the resins, including the tough, dental, flex & castables. We also have the Formlab2 printer in stock.

This is nothing but shameless self promotion… you arent actually offering what the OP is asking for…

… and apparently they jumped the gun with the new announcement on what FL may be releasing…
Not a good start for what I assume is a new relationship.

Anyone mixed v1 and v2 whites? I am looking to condense 6 mostly empty tanks of white and wondering how well they play together.

Hi everyone, Im new here. Can anyone tell me if this white resin would look like coconut flesh when poured into a hollowed out coconut shell? Or perhaps what would be the closest thing to that bright white flesh? Thank heaps.

That sounds very close to me so yes.
