Adding ID Tags

Hello Is there any way we can add ID tags or text or numbers to a .STL file before printing? I looked all over on preform and nothing, would there be a 3party program?

Starting with PreForm version 2.14.0, the name of the STL file will be printed on the base when supports are generated.

PreForm is a slicer not an editor. Can’t you do that with the software you use to model your parts ?
