My models are delivering 15-20 % excess weight after casting in 22k gold . Can anyone give me steps to avoid that .I’m using truecast resin on form 4
well, the question I would have about this is if the part changed dimensionally. Unless I’m missing something, the 3D printing side of this equation has little to do with the mass of the material you’re casting with. This will be strictly related to volume.
When casting, you will have to apply a scaling factor to the 3D printed part. It’s my experience this takes a little trial and error if you are looking to be exact. Can be expensive with gold. Check the documentation for recommended scaling factors. Orientation of the part in the investment can make a difference here.
Also ensure you’re using the correct burnout schedule and be sure to clean off all investment from the part.
