When can we expect PreForm to support drag-and-drop importing of SolidWorks 2026 SLDPRT files? The increased workflow friction caused by omission of this key productivity feature when we updated our SolidWorks installation from SW 2024 to SW 2026 is causing us a lot of heartache!

I haven’t done it but you can use a macro in solidworks to automatically save out an STL, 3mf, or step file every time you save a part file.
Yes, I’m aware. I haven’t done it, either, but any AI tool should be able to create such a macro. I’ve used Google Gemini to create similar SolidWorks macros.
That said, the whole point is to avoid file-storage bloat for the numerous engineering development projects my team is responsible for. Eliminating the need to generate and archive a mesh file or STEP file for every design iteration of every part in large projects becomes cumbersome pretty quickly!
