Printing Silicone 40A and Alumina 4N on Form 4L

We are in the process of choosing the right printer. We need a large build volume and the ability to print silicone. Do I understand correctly that even though its smaller cheaper sibling can print it, Form 4L cannot print silicone?

The same question goes for Alumina 4N.

If so, why? Are there any plans to open these materials to Form 4L?

Feel free to answer in detail, thank you very much for your effort.

Hi there, I am a user, not a trainer.

From what I understand during training, the silicone resin is very viscous and when the large platform of the 4L moves up and down, it causes print problems.

The trainer mentioned that some customers have made it work, but they had to purchase open material mode and fine-tune it from there. She did not recommend going this route, as she said it’s typically more trouble than it’s worth.

I’d imagine the alumina has a similar problem.

That’s about as in-depth as my knowledge goes. As mentioned, I am just a user.

Hope this helps!

Open Materials are very easy to use once you get tge settings figured out
