I have a situation where I need to get a new printer as my From3 recently died. Id like to get into the From4 platform however I am married to the Clear V4 resin to keep my production uniform and to utilize many liters of resin already purchased.
FormLabs says the that the From4 is only compatible with Clear V5. However FormLabs claims that in Open Material Mode you have “the possibility to print with any 405 nm photopolymer resin”. So I’m curious if I can make the Clear V4 work on the From4? If so, Im guessing the V4 resin maybe does not meet the speed performance the the v4 is touted for, hence the new clear version, this would be ok for me if I could get good prints at the speed my Form3 was producing.
Thanks for any help.
With open material you should be able to you will just have to change the settings to match the v4

I have 2 low-hours Form 3s that I’m thinking of selling. If you’re in New England (or willing to drive to Massachusetts) they might solve your problem.
