I have been using Preform for over five years and am excited about all of the new capabilities that have been developed over that time. It’s an amazing tool.
Over that time period, I had hoped that these two features would have emerged on their own.
If these exist in Preform I can’t seem to find them:
- Overwrite protection / confirmation when saving a .form file - sometimes I click too fast for my own good and will click save resulting in a bad or test .form file writing over a perfectly good .form file requiring me to either restore from backup, or re-create all of the supports and settings. Would it be possible to add a simple Microsoft Word like pop-up to confirm that overwriting the original .form file is intended?
- Control over the top and bottom support point tips - many times I need to use internal supports and while Preform allows the user placement control of the top point, the bottom point location seems to jump to various locations at random. This causes me to play a game of moving the top point around hoping that the bottom point will generate at a better location. Sometimes that works, but more frequently I have to go in the CAD itself and place a mock support pipe on the original model which causes other problems.
