Hi all,
I posted this in the “The New “Bags” of Powder” thread, but maybe it could be helpful to some so I’m making a new thread on this procedure.
This worked well for me and I am happy with it, YMMV of course. No dust clouds, no big powder spills all over the sift work area. Some powder flowed out past the hinges of the grate, but this was minimal. It did take some care to accomplish.
Step 1: Clean powder cartridge and ensure it is installed and open.
Step 2: Set refresh rate to 100%.
Step 3: Place bag over grate and make a baseball sized hole in the bag (I used an xacto knife). Rotate the bag over the grate aligning the hole with the grate. (This prevents a lot of powder dust escape).
Step 4: Monitor fresh hopper. Begin to fill cartridge once the hopper is reasonably full. This will make room for the entire bag.
Step 5: Empty cartridge into empty powder jug. Adapter funnel credit goes to @ashworth, who provided the stl here. I split it in 3 to print with SLS.
