OT: Viper SLA support material

Hi all,

I have used service bureaus that print with the Viper machine. The prints come in with no visible support marks, so I’m wondering if they somehow have a soluble support system. Anyone have any insight?

Viper machines are conventional SLA, i.e. top down, the laser draws on the top surface of a large tank of resin. This means there is no peel process. There are supports, but they are thin hair like structures that leave very little marks because they do not need to oppose the peeling force…

Also, typically a service bureau will do a bit of finishing for you. Look for light sanding marks where the supports should have been.
