Correct! Be safe.
I have lowered the exposure to 10 mJ/cm3 for a .05mm layer height and got some better dimensional accuracy. SO, I think I have it dialed in at this point and am happy with these results.
2.01mm, slightly over the 2mm for the wall thickness is acceptable for me, overall diameter is 33.97mm, close but under the 34mm, and inside diameter is 29.95, also slightly under the 30mm. If I have parts that need more accuracy than this I would use a FL resin, anyone that wants parts with this cheap resin will have to be ok with the +/- for tolerance.
Ayyyy, this is slick! Iām sort of skipping around in this topic - did you print that with OMM on a Form4?
Iām heavily considering getting and OMM as I print a LOT of tabletop figures for people and these Anycubic resin printers are not designed for the amount of printing Iām doing. Iām hoping the new P series is better, but I love me some formlabs.
Yes, the above test were all done on our form4, works well. Definitely a way to print on a budget. Itās something we will offer along side regular Formlab resins on our new print on demand page we are setting up on our botzen.com website.
Itās a shame that the fee for OMM (Open Material Mode) is so unrealistically high.
Not just a shame, but in my case actively misleading. I ordered my Form 3 and 3L shortly after they were announced. My salesperson assured me Open Mode would be an included feature. I think the early marketing material also listed it (later removed). I still feel ripped off to this day that they never fulfilled that promise. The company should have offered free (or at least discounted) licenses to early purchasers of their hardware who relied on that information.
@MattRForerunner Thanks for sharing those photos at the beginning of this thread, Iād love to hear what you think of those third party resins compared to Formlabs ones.
True, I also feel cheated that I was not told when I bought that I could not use third party materials. It was only after the purchase that I found out that there is such a thing as RFID chip cards and that they are needed for the machine to function!
Hi Matt, thanks for the insights. I would like to print using the Loctite 3843 white material n Form4. Have you had any luck with printing in white or any tips you can share to set up custom printer settings as Loctite only has validation in the black color for that material.
Just a quick note for everyone, you can try using 3dmaterials superfast resins, with the fast model resin profile just empty the original content refill and fill the tank manually. You will be saving 50% material cost with the prints coming as expected. We received the 4L yesterday and itās already parts with the mentioned resin unaltered profile.
OMM is definitely handy ![]()
If you get a flex plate for the 4L make sure you throw the original handles in the trash and get my upgrade ![]()
The print is not with OMM I just cheated, stock settings refilled cartridge.
Iām probably not getting the flex plate soon, I prefer spending $1000 on the form 4 in about 15 days. About the handles⦠I can do them myself but thanks ![]()
Ah I misread. I think you can only refill the cartridge a set number of times and then itāll lock you out.
Yup at least previous generation lasted about 4 liters, so even when it happens, I will still be saving $$$ itās $200 for 4 liters superfast vs $500 USD fast model tax included.
You can also manually pour and top up into the tank before each print which will save you some resin run to run and extend the length of time you can refill the cartridges for. Youāll still eventually get locked out, but it can help extend. I did this when transitioning all my Form 3 resins into the 4Ls.
Yup been doing it since form2
