Making silicone mold of high heels

Hi folks,

A question for the mold making universe:

I am trying to make a silicone mold of a pair of high heels using Smooth On Mold Max 60 (for a lead casting).

Obviously, the inner part of the shoe needs to be hollow so it’s wearable (I know this seems weird, but it’s for an art performance). Otherwise, I understand that it would be easy to make the mold if it wasn’t hollow.

Any ideas about how to go about creating this mold? I’m thinking it needs to have some kind of core.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @Moldmaker,

Although I’m not very familiar with creating molds myself, I wanted to pass along our article on How to Make Silicone Molds: A Practical Guide. I’d be interested to hear any advice that other users have to share as well.
