blah, right after that it asked to update my printer and I got this. A few retries finally got it to work. Going to try a test print after this update in the hopes the issue was SW rather than HW
Well I’ve done a few prints with their grey and I gotta say that I really like it!
It did bug me that both liters have just under 900 ml according to the bottles they came in.
I do like the bottles much better, they’re the same as a quart of oil and are much easier to pour!
The price tag is the great part about it!
I’ll post some pics later after I try the green.
I’d love to see them come out with a clear!
Yes, it turns out it was my printer and not the resin. So no hate to the resin! I do agree though that I think what you get (in the bottle) is less than what is advertised.
Great, is it possible to weigh an empty bottle and a full bottle of makerjuice to really see what is inside ?
Yeah the price is so much better but if your selling 895ml then don’t call it a liter! That’s a pet peeve of mine its like that with so many products like amps that say 2,000watts but they’re really only 800 watts etc…
That said, as long as their quality persists they have my business!!!
I know Josh has just installed a new bottling machine that gives much faster and more accurate fillings of the bottles, so I suspect this will help the accuracy of the volume.
The new machine is sweet, he demoed it for me last week!
Hi guys!
Don’t want to get too deep into things here, but if you suspect you have less resin than advertised please let me know directly. We measured the first bottles of SubSF-F1 out using a lab beaker, so they SHOULD be accurate to within 10mL of what we advertise. The bottle strips on the other hand are not accurate at all, and are only used as a reference.
As Jonathan mentioned, we’re getting some much better bottling machines that fill volumetrically so no more measuring.
But if you do measure it, and it is of, like I said let me know and I’ll make it up to you at no charge. We pride ourselves on good service and I certainly don’t want anyone to feel shorted, whether they have posted about it on a form or not!
Sorry for the typos, meant “off” and “forum”. No way to edit?
Well, my first bottle is gone (500ml), and I’ve yet to open the 1L I got (since my printer is down), but I did mention it in the review on the site last month: http://makerjuice.com/product/subsf-form1/#reviews
“…I bought the 500ml bottle, but have to admit it did feel like less than half of what you get with formlabs’ 1L bottle…”
I’ll measure the liter once I finally open it.
I made those 2 with the Form 1 and makerjuice G+.
Hi guys,
Did anyone try the SubSF for Form1, the green resin? I found a distributor close to my country but their website says it is still under bata testing. I wanted to make sure the VAT fogging was as good as the Formlabs resin and they were not able to give me this info…
I’m almost through my fourth liter of MakerJuice resin now (3 grays and 1 green) and I would definitely recommend it!
I get PDMS fogging from every brand or color of resin I have used, and none appear any better or worse to me.
The MakerJuice resin separates quickly and requires alot of stirring but its no big deal.
I’m really hoping that they come out with a clear resin for the Form 1 next and soon!
All the most recent things I have made have been with MakerJuice and can be seen here: http://www.thingiverse.com/vinnivanhood/made/page:1
Vince, this is a great feedback! I really appreciate you shared your experience with us.
By the way, congrats for your work, you have printed amazing parts.
I will order some green resin tomorrow.
Thanks again.
I just got my Maker Juice grey resin yesterday and made a comparison by printing the same object with my transparent FL resin:
Everything is thicker with the Maker Juice resin. It may be good for some applications like art but quite critical point if you want to respect part size…
Hey, not trying to troll here, but I work in a science lab (where I use my Form1+) and I can tell you from experience that measuring using a beaker is incredibly inaccurate. You need to use a graduated cylinder. 1L in a beaker can range anywhere from 900mL to 1.1L. Its a rough measurement at best. Just keep that in mind for the future.
