Greetings @Formlabs community!
You’ve seen me around. Maybe you’ve wondered what Steam Factory is. We are a new 3D printing-centric service that is open to the public. We are not a maker space, though makers are certainly a large portion of our customers. We are a collaboration space focused around 3D printing. Access to our facility is membership based and we are staffed to help users of all levels. Our new location near the University of Minnesota will serve as a front end to these services. We offer:
- All Formlabs SLA and SLS and various FFF
- A large study/workspace for users to collaborat
- A separate area for workshops, classes, and community outreach
- Coffee
While this location is intended as a lower margin/higher volume service, we also have a secure B2B location where we do most of our engineering and commercial/NDA work.
We’re excited to offer a retail experience, brick-and-mortar facility that is different than the typical garage/warehouse/pole barn based print farms that are fairly common in the industry. We are providing an engaging, interactive experience for our users.
If any of you are in the Twin Cities, feel free to sign up for our grand opening on May 1st. We are hoping to offer live stream on the variouis media platforms including LinkedIn Live, Twitch, and Facebook.
