If we could have an option to leave 10mm in the outer edges of the printbed in the autopack function that would be great.
Some parts we print is extremly brittle and if we print them in the outer rim of the bed they will most likely be affected by the heat and look like crap. In those cases we cannot use the autopack function.
Yes im aware that we loose volym by having this option, thats something im willing to accept ofc. Aslong as our parts are properly sintered and looks good then im all good.
Thx

I think the “Distance to Wall” function does this, but maybe I am not interpreting your post correctly.
However, it would be great if manual packing observed the “Distance to Wall” constraint. I know this can be roughly done by visually keeping a gap or inserting a dummy part that lines the chamber, but it would be faster if PreForm automatically flagged parts in this area.

Omg how did i not see that. haha. I jumped the gun so to speak. But yeah i agree with your suggestion. Could be really handy to have that function.

Glad it’s clear for your @Andreasemilsson. Great point @jmasterson - passing this along to our PreForm team!
Thanks for forwarding that feedback! Would you mind also sharing the following information from this post with the PreForm team?
It would be really helpful if manual packing could still respect a minimum spacing setting. I can see two possible ways to support this:
- Add a visual indicator that shows the set minimum spacing as a boundary around each model.
- Update the “Overlapping Models” warning so it also triggers when models get closer than the specified spacing.
