It’s my understanding that Formlabs now recommends all new Fuse printers should run the bed temperature tuning before printing real jobs. For that reason, I believe the documentation could use an update. I have found 2 Formlabs articles discussing this process (A, B).
Necessity: The articles contradict or at least confuse the recommendation of running the temperature tuning.
A: “Formlabs recommends only using this tool if other standard troubleshooting and maintenance steps have not addressed your print issue.”
B: “Formlabs recommends tuning the bed temperature of your printer before printing with Nylon 12 Powder for the first time.”
Materials: There is some confusion regarding which materials have valid temperature tuning prints. I know that not all materials have available bed temperature tuning prints, but it would be useful to have a list explicitly stating which materials are available.
Processing: There is a good amount of information regarding handling and interpreting results. However, running this tuning print (at least for Nylon 12) generates some significant hard-caking. It’s not clear whether hard-caked powder should be run through the Sift. This is a more general request for documentation on this topic, as seen in my other post.
