I would like to make the case for a Form 4 Auto accessory similar to the Form 3 version that can remove prints and start new prints out of the same material. There are two cases where I think it is farm more advantageous to have this accessory for the Form 4 than the Form 3.

  1. Prototyping on nights and weekends. The Form 4 is waaaay faster than Form 3 in direct print time but also due to the increased platform area. The auto did not make sense for the Form 3 for us since it would only afford us 1 extra print overnight. With the speed of Form 4, we could get 3-5 more prints each night, make the payoff much quicker. My team often has designs ready over the weekend but there is a print from Friday night still on the platform. Someone has to go in to reprime the system, so people just wait for Monday morning.
  2. Production. Again, since it is faster, I could get more output from a single operator if they didn’t have to manually remove and restart each print. They would have to be doing this more frequently with the Form 4 since the print times are shorter.

I would definitely purchase an auto for each of our Form 4’s

That use case totally makes sense. Glad you’re getting so much from your Form 4s now and understand the interest of automation to minimize downtime. I’ve passed this to our R+D team.
