Hi Stefan,
I was getting the same whine. I think the consensus is that it’s from an idling stepper motor (even in sleep mode), and upgrading the firmware to a newer version helps to mitigate.
My Form 2 appears to have steppers that are pretty noisy when idling.
I’m familiar with the sound from various FDM printers i’ve dealt with and built over the years, but the difference here is - the stepper whine on Form 2 never goes away.
Even when i put it to sleep, there’s still a noise.
At first i’ve thought it’s a fan, then i’ve noticed that i can feel it through the tank and the wiper with my finger.
The version of FW it came with was pretty bad, after an update it became quieter, but …
Mostly just curious if this is normal. While my printer is on, it makes a high pitch whine, all the time. Sounds like maybe a high voltage power supply or something. Not quite as high pitch as the whine crts used to make. It is loud enough to be annoying. Anyone else’s machines do this?
thanks!
