Form 2 Open Mode / Compatible Resins / Resin Tray

Given the Form 2 is so old now, I’m sure this has been addressed at length. But I still haven’t found the exact verified solution. I was given a Form 2 for free from someone who upgraded. I am new to resin printing entirely. That said, I will only be printing in Open Mode due to the cost of the formlabs cartridges.

Like an idiot, I only did a small amount of research and thought any resin would work in Open Mode. I did a test print and completely fried the acrylic on the resin tray. I didn’t realize the differences in longer exposures with a laser printer and all that. I know - I’m dumb. I really want to get into resin printing, but my question is this: Is there another resin out there that works well with the Form 2 Open Mode and can use the standard print settings in PreForm (since I can’t edit and customize any print settings with the Form 2) - AND is relatively inexpensive? I don’t want to pay $80+ every time I buy 1 KG of resin. I’d love suggestions from people who have tested and confirmed that a specific resin works.

I also have a follow-up question. With my resin tray - since the acrylic is completely ruined - is there a way to replace the acrylic or do I need to buy a new tray altogether? I found a new, unopened tray for $45. I’m willing to grab that if replacing the acrylic is too much of a hassle.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
