First thoughts on printing with Elastic 50A V2

Hi -

Just my findings on printing with Elastic 50A V2. I am thoroughly impressed so far. Below is the part I printed as my first part with Elastic 50A V2 and to be honest, not a lot of hope it would succeed

Turns out, the part printed perfectly without any issues. The most difficult part was getting it off the build platform as I printed it directly on the platform, so I might start experimenting with the early layer compression settings (as I do with rigid materials as well).

I washed it for 10 minutes (in brand new IPA) and then removed the part. I forgot to remove the supports first (as was suggested by other users) and went ahead and cured the part. This was by far the most time consuming part of the process. I have the Cure 1 and it took about an hour to reach 70C, I suspect due the fact that the part needs to be cured in water.

After curing it was easy enough to removed the supports but full disclosure, they were small and not many due to the fact that I printed directly on the platform.

To my surprise, the part fitted perfectly into the machined base part!

this part act as a diffuser for a LED ring while doubling as support for Tempered glass lid. I will finish the assembly and post the final result here.

Cheers, Friedl.

I’ve put hot water into the cure station rather than room temp with no issues before. That would help speed up your curing process at least.
