Feature Request: Model Splitting with Connectors

Hi everyone,

I’d like to suggest a new feature that would make it much easier to work with oversized or modular models:

  • A tool to split a model into multiple parts directly within the software.
  • Options to automatically generate connectors (such as pins, dovetails, puzzle joints, or snap-fit features) to ensure correct alignment and easy assembly after printing.
  • This would help users print large objects that don’t fit on the build plate, and also open up possibilities for creating modular projects without relying on external CAD tools.

I believe this could be a great addition for anyone working on bigger prints or multi-part designs.

We don’t have a public roadmap for our software features, but I would suggest keeping an eye on our PreForm features updates YouTube Playlist and hitting the bell icon to get notified for future features added to PreForm :slight_smile:
