Feature Request: Model Splitting with Connectors

Hi everyone,

I’d like to suggest a new feature that would make it much easier to work with oversized or modular models:

• A tool to split a model into multiple parts directly within the software.
• Options to automatically generate connectors (such as pins, dovetails, puzzle joints, or snap-fit features) to ensure correct alignment and easy assembly after printing.
• This would help users print large objects that don’t fit on the build plate, and also open up possibilities for creating modular projects without relying on external CAD tools.

I believe this could be a great addition for anyone working on bigger prints or multi-part designs.

We don’t have a public roadmap for our software features, but I would suggest keeping an eye on our PreForm features updates YouTube Playlist and hitting the bell icon to get notified for future features added to PreForm

Yeah this would be truly a very useful feature… some slicers have it already and it can save a lot of time, can’t wait to see it in PreForm.

Very much looking forward to this feature. Had to run a model through another slicer, export, then import into PreForm.
