Hi Guys, first time posting here and I’ll be the first to admit I’m a complete newbie with the Fuse 1+.
However I’m having an issue which I can’t seem to get past. The printer is all set up and looks ready to go. I can create and upload jobs and I have added the 6kg credit from the card that came in the box with the Nylon11. Here’s where it gets weird. The chamber and hopper material are showing as unallocated in the UI. When I go to try and reallocate the chamber to a new material, every single option availlable under the materials list is shown as incompatible with my build chamber and I cannot proceed any further than this.
Edit: I’ll add that this is the same situation with both build chambers.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a step I’m missing here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Can´t you start a print from Preform anyways and it automatically asigns the powder type to the chamber? It´s long time ago since i got a new chamber so can´t really remember. Only time when i had to go to the printer and change the setting was when we shifted from Nylon 12 to Nylon 12GF
It shows up a message about chamber mismatch when I try that unfortunately.
I did also attach the chamber to the sifter to check what it said and it wouldn’t do anything due to the chamber being mismatched with the sifter (which is set to Nylon 11)
Alrite. Tried this? It also applies to the Fuse 1+
Switching powder types on a Fuse 1
The Fuse 1 uses a powder credit system to track the type of powder currently being used. When switching powder types, you must fully clean the printer and reset the registered powder type.
To reset the registered powder type:
- On the touchscreen, tap the gear icon. The Settings screen appears.
- Tap Calibration. The Calibration screen appears.
- Tap Reset Powder Type. The Reset Registered Powder screen appears.
Alternatively:
- Upload a print job whose powder type does not match the powder type currently registered to the Fuse 1.
- Attempt to start the print job. The Powder Type Mismatch screen appears.
- Tap Switch. The Reset Registered Powder screen appears.
On the Reset Registered Powder screen, the machine warns you that failing to clean out all powder before switching materials can lead to print failures or permanent damage. Read the instructions on this screen and tap Next.
If this does not work i would suggest reaching out to support@formlabs.com
Support is actually one thing they are really good at. Powderprices, not so much.
Is it possible I have a bad powder card? The powder card gives me 6kg of credit on the machine but it doesn’t seem to specify in the credits what type of powder it is.
What does it say physically on the card? Nylon 12, Nylon 12GF?
Hi Andy,
So a bit of an update. The card does indeed specify nylon11 which is correct for the material I’m using. I actually reached out to support as suggested and they got me to go through a specific couple of steps. I still cannot manually assign powder types to the build chambers, however I can bypass it now by doing what you suggested before by simply uploading a preassigned material print. According to support this is a rare issue they have only documented a couple of times… Lucky me lol.
At any rate I’m now printing and have 3 successful prints in!
Happy to hear you got support working for you. Best of luck.
