On our Fuse 1+, the Preprint stage runs a consistent ~1h 8m, but the printer doesn’t display any elapsed or remaining time while it’s in that state. The only way I’ve found to know how far along it is, is to start a stopwatch next to the machine.
Two ways this could be solved:
- Show a simple countdown or elapsed timer on the Preprint screen (and in Dashboard).
- Better: include Preprint in the overall job progress and the estimated finish time.
Option 2 would be the more useful one for us. As it stands, the estimated print time only covers the print itself, so every job actually completes about an hour later than the screen implies. That gap makes it harder than it needs to be to plan machine turnaround for the day.
Since the duration seems fixed, even a static estimate folded into the progress bar would be a big improvement over no indication at all.
Has anyone else worked around this, or is there something in a newer firmware I’ve missed?
