Quicker way to add manual supports

In some prints where there are lots of places I don’t want supports, I’ve found it’s sometimes quicker to manually add them rather than manually deleting them from the places I don’t want them. I just had a quick thought about a method of adding support points: instead of clicking once per point, how about drawing a line or radius, and then choosing the density of points along that line. Preform would add the points, and I see it shaving some significant time off the print layout.

Just a brainstorm

I would love to be able to trace a line, and have preform place points alternatively on one side of the line and then the other, alternating between each point. I do this when I have a lot of supports along the same line to augment the rigidity of the support structure.
