After I print my parts with Castable Wax, I have observed lots of shrinkage and even distortion during the first 24 hours. So I was wondering if this was only due to the way I store my parts. The Castable wax parts does not need post curing, so I never cure them, but I have read that “No post-curing is required for Castable Wax parts. While post-curing Castable Wax parts should not affect castability, post-curing may shrink parts slightly (by less than 1%), which can cause distortion” on the website. So the shrinkage that I met might be due to natural light on my parts.
How do you store your parts before casting? Do you store it protected from any UV? Do you put your part in a chamber where you control the humidity?
