Yeah, especially if they get warm which is what you want a cure box to be. I probably get less than 100 hours out of the LED strips I bought.

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just use the nail dryer UV bulbs instead - you get 36 watts for almost half the cost of 20 watts with that light.

The light was $50 bucks and I bought a cheap metal filing cabinet, cut a hole in the top, and mounted the ligth with a safety switch at the drawer that cuts off the light when you open the drawer.

I made a build of @AtlasBrace 's Ikea cure chamber. Total build cost for 108 watts of UV was $125 including cabinet and shipping.

I made a build based on @AtlasBrace’s excellent IKEA Cure Box. I installed a total of 12 bulbs instead of @AtlasBrace’s 8 bulbs for a total of 108 watts of UV light. I substituted the reflective vinyl for a chopped up mylar emergency blanket and used wood glue to apply the mylar (before assembly). Also, instead of printing the light sockets, I found that the sockets from two of these UV nail dryers were easily removed and repurposed (nice they came with spare bulbs too).
