Tough 1500 V2 looks really useful. Is there any chance of using it in a Form 2 or 3, or is it 4 only?

Hey @Amanda1 thanks for your question! It’s only compatible with Form 4, Form 4B, Form 4L, Form 4BL.

More details (strength are directly on the product page and the Tough 1500 v2 Technical Data Sheet.

Don’t hesitate with more questions,
Diana

I really think there should be an effort on Formlabs part to at least attempt to get the newer resins to print decently on the older printers.

Awesome update! ive been trialing the new cure station for a bit and the speed is a major improvement. Gone are the days of long preheating times. Super exited to try the V2 tough 1500 resin also

I also am loving the new cure unit, sooooo much faster :fire:

Will a new version of Tough 1500 with improved properties be developed for the Form 3, 3+?

Hey @CarlosTIN, thanks for your question. Chemically, we aren’t able to adjust Tough 1500 v2 for the Form 3/3+ system. While we’re committed to bringing new materials to Form 3 when possible—like we did with Clear Cast, for example —Tough 1500 V2 relies on a new chemistry that requires the newer Form 4 Resin Tank only, which unfortunately isn’t compatible with the Form 3.

How long will tough 1500 v1 still be available for those of us with Form 3s?

Hey @StarFlicker thanks for asking - If we upgrade a resin for Form 4, the Form 3 version will still exist until we stop supporting Form 3 printers (until at least Jan 2028), or the particular resin becomes so unpopular that the sales volume is too small to continue producing.
