Where do I start for a design to print?

I don’t think Photoshop for 3D is a good example. It was a lousy tool, and is slowly being deprecated in later versions. Adobe is giving up on it, just as you did.

Agree and I only used PS as an example of complexity. I’ve been using Affinity for a few years now. But that’s only for my photography online, not a design feature.

I totally agree with Randy Cohen’s suggestion that Thingiverse. com contains millions of ready-to-print CAD files.

That’s good to know and thank you Alexis, however my needs are for a design that I have hand-drawn and is a new design so while I haven’t done a patent search I doubt my specific design is available. It is pretty specific for a specific purpose, rather than another little dinosaur or wheel or chess piece

you should think about the program, size of documents, bleed, color system, and how you export your design for print
