If they are only changing the clear@0.05 setting then I would imagine they are just scaling it a bit. That is another issue FormLabs told me I was wrong about.
I bought my first clear resin August 2014 and noticed right away only Clear@0.05 was not printing successfully, but support told me I was wrong back then so they didn’t have to look into it. Haha.

Fine Tuning Setting for 'Cure Applied'

Can we have a little control over the Cure Applied please? Maybe -4% to +4%. Me and @Monger_Designs and others have been noticing that some material and resolution settings consistently over-cure or under-cure. I can’t print with Clear @ 0.05 on my latest replacement printer because the resin does not bond to the layer above reliably. But Clear @ 0.1 and Clear @ 0.025 are good. Black @ 0.05 slightly over-cures.

Print doesn't form / adhere to build plate

I just got a refurbished form1+ and it will not print in Clear@0.05. The laser power seems wrong. A few prints did not adhere to the platform, even with it lowered. And the ones that did adhere all failed within the first inch. But Clear@0.1 and Clear@0.025 print fine for me. I assume the laser power tables for the new laser are not adjusted correctly. It’s possible white is messed up too. Try a different thickness setting or a different color resin and see how that goes.

And fast forward to the laser flare issues, support said I was wrong again, so in November 2014 I designed a laser choke to prove my point. I first mentioned that in the following post. The day I sold my printer support was still telling me I was wrong. Now they are coming around.

Is the Y galvo mirror supposed to be transparent?

The progressive part would probably be the laser. When this laser got so bad it wouldn’t print, I designed a light “Choke” to install in front of the laser. It took my laser spot test from sucky to awesome. With it’s help, I have been printing like crazy since placing my order for the replacement Form1+. And the prints are perfect.

And as Rocus showed everyone, support would rather “handle” you than “handle” the issue until it becomes undeniable. Then they start looking into it.
