This is really cool and bravo for the huge effort !
Just something that could be a little better is to delete the small portion in front of the UV box ( to avoid the bottom of the resin tray to be strike when we will push/pull it )

Good suggestion, this was actually my initial idea to keep the bottom surface of the resin tray from scratching.  When I got deeper into the design though I realized that the resin tray optical surface is actually inset from the bottom of the resin tray which meant that I could keep that front part of the shelve for better shelf structural integrity.  Another added benefit of having that part of the shelve there is that if you have bigger fingers and it is difficult to slide the tray out you can actually slide the shelf out with the tray on it, imagine something similar to an oven rack.  Anyway thanks everyone for your support and all the great ideas.  We are placing our order tomorrow and then the countdown starts.  I will post here immediately once its up on etsy.

Hi Marcus,

Production is taking a little longer than planned due to having to figure out shipping and packaging logistics.  The new estimate is that the first units will be ready within 2 weeks.  As soon as we know the final hard date I will share the Etsy site where orders can be placed or take orders directly from the forum via paypal.  Thanks so much for your interest, I am really excited to get this product out to everyone.

For people who don’t want to spend an insane amount ($129 + shipping is crazy nuts!) on a small orange storage box, I just ordered a few of the following online.

Little bigger than the resin tank, but its secure nice storage for under $8 per tank.

I’m sorry you feel that way monger.  The uv material is expensive to source and these were made professionally at a factory, so you’re going to get a professional product.  Given that it uses about twice as much acrylic then a single resin tray ($69) from formlabs (and that it is UV protective orange) we think we offer it at a good price point.   Our box will look good with the printer and be a very nice addition in any lab, workspace, or office.  If its not for you that’s perfectly okay but we have worked very hard to bring this to the community in a short amount of time.  Given the small qty run since we financed it ourselves the manufacturing costs were higher than they would have been if we could afford to order more in bulk.  What we are offering is a useful solution to a problem other members have had, I’m sure others will find your solution useful as well, but for those who are looking for something a little more polished our product will be great for them. Thanks for your input.

Not saying it isn’t very nice. It looks great! But for me, it just seems too expensive. Maybe if you made another version from cheap black plastic, then the price would be much lower. I just need to store the tanks securely and away from light. Dont really need to put them on display.

Monger I usually find your posts quite helpful, but I think the above is disrespectful. Your last post could have worked much better than the first one trashing the price and linking to another product in a sales thread.

Fwiw Justin, my initial response was similar. To me the sweet spot on this would be 69-99. however I know how it is starting and funding a small run of product. There’s more than the cost of materials involved. I think the current price is doable, but perhaps offer free shipping.

Anywho, ordered, as you know, and excited to get it.

Since when is being honest about a price of something and thinking something is too expensive, being disrespectful? I never said it’s not a nice box. I just think it’s way overpriced, because I’ve done similar projects and I know that something like that can be done cheaper, especially if there a bulk order. If he has a small order then the price may be a little higher.

I think you’re being disrespectful by “attacking” my opinion and the tip I was trying to pass on to the community about alternative solutions to resin tank storage. This is a community board for helping the community… not a marketplace for pushing your products.

I’m glad you used quotes, because I don’t feel that I attacked you or your opinion. I simply stated MY option, which was that your post came across as disrespectful and could have been better worded (which you later did with your follow up post).

We can’t always agree, but we can always be respectful IMO.
