Fuse 1+ Waste Nylon 12

Hi All,

Just curious if anyone else weighs their waste Nylon 12 powder?

I currently run 7 Fuse1+ printers alongside 1 FuseBlast, 1 FuseSift and 2 vacuums. I run 2 prints per day on each machine with each producing 12-18 various sized parts each. I have begun weighing my vacuum bags once full and also the waste from the FuseBlast. Last month it totalled up to about 90kg worth of waste powder and am wondering if this is excessive or not?

Are you dumping a lot of used powder out of sift or is this all from vacuum bags and the blast waste hopper?

This is only the blast waste and vacuum bags.

If you are running 25%ish packing density average/30% refresh rate, then I would call it good. If you run a lower packing density and are having to increase your refresh rate above 30% due to low used powder its possible you can knock off more powder in sift before moving to blast.

My packing densities are on the higher side on average, so I try to recover as much used powder as I can.

I’d say it’s normal I run just 2 and get quite alot of waste, as it’s the glass media particles getting turned to dust as well as the blasted off powder.

Hey since you have to clean a lot of optical cassettes, did you know the top up cards are same width as the large window. I cut one down so it can also be used on small camera window too. Just wrap wetted cloth I use super soft K&F microcloth wrapped round card. Then working in cross pattern i use the edge card like a blade and pull cloth down a few mm’s for new clean edge. Have you any top tips?
