Hi everyone,
I’m curious if anyone here uses Paint 3D as a quick concepting or visualization tool before moving their models into proper CAD or 3D-printing software.
I know Paint 3D is not a full modeling program, but for simple shapes, rough ideas, or quick edits, it’s actually surprisingly useful — especially when I want to sketch something fast before rebuilding it in Fusion 360, Blender, or PreForm.
I’m interested in hearing your experiences:
-
Do you ever start with Paint 3D for basic forms?
-
Have you exported anything from Paint 3D into STL/OBJ for Formlabs printers?
-
Any tips or workflows to make this smoother?
-
Or reasons why you think it’s not worth using at all?
I’m experimenting with a workflow where I create a rough model in Paint 3D, refine it later in a more advanced tool, and then prepare it for printing in PreForm.
Would love to know if others have tried something similar!
Thanks!
