Strengthening Thin features

After reading through TJ’s “torture test” blog post, I had an idea that maybe the Form software could detect thin wall features and perform an extra pass or two with the laser to help prevent the feature from being damaged by the peel process, by additional curing of the resin.

Another idea was to have the software generate a break-away support, to provide lateral support to tall thin features. This would take the form of one or more support pins, like those currently generated, but lies in the direction of the peel from the thin wall feature, and is connected to the thin wall feature with a perpendicular thin wall, or small “nubs” every few mm vertically.

[I’ll try to make a drawing to illustrate the concept, and add it to this post when I get a chance]
