For vacuum degassing of silicone on the cheap, Harbor Freight to the rescue:
(Depending on their coupons any given day, you can usually get that one for ~$80-100 or so.)
Vacuum chambers can be had on eBay for about the same money and have nice sheet of clear acrylic to see though.
