It would be difficult to make it solid, but you can definitely paint it safely and it won’t just break down over time. Like any other plastic it can get damaged by heat and sunlight, but painting it should help to some degree.

I usually print the parts hollow, and leave lots of holes on the connecting suyrfaces for another resin to fill through at the end.
Might be better to fit it with sand + PVA
