Directional/Polarized lighting to see fine layer lines in prints (chrome)

#1

Hey all!

So I have to finish printed pieces to a very fine level because most of them get chrome gold sprayed on them. I have found that the finer layer lines can be hard to see, but the directional nature/intensity of sunlight makes clear the areas that haven’t been fully sanded. I do have a magnifier LED lamp, but because the LED’s are set up in a halo, the shadows are washed out and you miss the texture. Is there a spotlight or polarized light source that would be good for this purpose?

Thanks!
